Based in the Somerset area, Southern County is a four piece acoustic band playing a blend of contemporary country, bluegrass and folk music.

Southern County are heavily influenced by American new country/bluegrass act Alison Krauss & Union Station, and perform versions of several of the songs they have made popular.

In addition to playing new-country and folk songs the band likes to take well known popular songs and play them in their own style.

 

Southern County have just released their first unsigned album 'Rush' in July 2009.  At present this is available through the band at request or at our gigs.  It will soon be available to download from itunes.
