Based in the Somerset area, Southern County is a four piece acoustic band playing a blend of contemporary country, bluegrass and folk music.

Southern County are heavily influenced by American new country/bluegrass act Alison Krauss & Union Station, and perform versions of several of the songs they have made popular.

In addition to playing new-country and folk songs the band likes to take well known popular songs and play them in their own style. The band has also spent time recently writing original material and adding a few of these songs to the set has gone down well with recent audiences.
