Unfortunately Southern County are preparing for their last public performance in June. We would like to thank everyone for their support. We have had a great time and have played some great music. However two of the members of Southern County have formed a duo to continue performing country, bluegrass and folk and are available for public performances. Please see our myspace or facebook pages for more information or to contact please email us at southernfolk@hotmail.co.uk
Based in the Somerset area, Southern County is a four piece acoustic band playing a blend of contemporary country, bluegrass and folk music.
Southern County are heavily influenced by American new country/bluegrass act Alison Krauss & Union Station, and perform versions of several of the songs they have made popular.
In addition to playing new-country and folk songs the band likes to take well known popular songs and play them in their own style.
